Our patient services provide comprehensive, personalized support to help individuals drive safely and confidently. We offer clinical and on-road evaluations, outcome guidance, and hands-on adaptive equipment training in the specialist's fully equipped driver rehab vehicle, with home-based evaluations available for added convenience. The specialist will also help the driver meet state licensing requirements and, once trained and licensed, prescribe any needed adaptive equipment — enabling safe driving through devices and techniques tailored to individual needs.

Comprehensive Driving Evaluations

For added convenience and comfort, evaluations can begin in the comfort of your own home. This personalized approach allows us to see your daily environment, identify potential challenges, and tailor recommendations and adaptive solutions to your specific needs. Home-based evaluations ensure a more accurate, practical assessment while making the process easier and more accessible for you.

1. Clinical Evaluation

Conducted in a structured environment to assess:

  • Vision

  • Strength and range of motion

  • Sensation

  • Reaction time

  • Cognitive abilities

This portion helps determine readiness for on-road testing and identify potential adaptive needs.

2. On-Road Assessment

Conducted in a modified driver rehabilitation vehicle when appropriate.

  • Real traffic scenarios

  • Parking, lane changes, turns

  • Hazard recognition

  • Adaptive equipment trials

3. Outcome Discussion

Clear explanation of:

  • Evaluation results

  • Safety recommendations

  • Equipment needs

  • Additional training plans

Home-Based Evaluations

Our comprehensive driving evaluations assess physical and cognitive abilities, on-road skills, and adaptive equipment needs. We provide clear results, safety recommendations, and personalized training with tools like hand controls, pedal extensions, and steering devices to help each individual drive safely and confidently.

Evaluation Fee: $500.00 per visit

Personalized Adaptive Driving Training

Our adaptive equipment training helps individuals gain confidence and independence behind the wheel using specialized tools tailored to their needs. Hands-on instruction ensures safe and effective use of each device and helps determine readiness for on-road driving.

Equipment Training Includes:

  • Hand controls

  • Left foot accelerator

  • Pedal extensions

  • Steering devices

Training Details / What to Expect:

  • Offered to individuals who demonstrate potential during the evaluation

  • Sessions typically last 2 hours (can be longer if needed)

  • May include vendor visits, equipment prescriptions, or discussions about upcoming driver tests

  • Covers driving strategies and proper use of adaptive equipment

  • Helps identify additional adaptive needs for a safe, comfortable driving experience

Training: $150/hour plus travel

Including driver’s tests and final fittings, billed in 15-minute increments, with a standard 2-hour session priced at $300 and 2-hour sessions with travel starting at $300 plus travel costs.
